Gunmen have attacked the office of the Karachi police chief located on main Sharea Faisal, with an operation presently underway, according to officers.
A speaker for the Sindh Rangers said original estimates suggest there are eight to ten “ fortified terrorists ”.
The Saddar police station, which is located next to the police chief’s office, has also issued a statement saying that it had come under attack.
“SHO, PI Khalid Hussain Memon informed that unknown indicted (attacked) Saddar police station near Karachi Police Office. Firing is going on far and wide,” the statement said.
Redundant police contingents and Rangers have been called to the point of the attack.
The Rangers prophet said the Quick Response Force (QRF) have reached the scene and cordoned off the area. “ Rangers, alongside the police, have begun an operation against the terrorists, ” the speaker said.
Police surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed toldDawn.com that one injured worker from the Edhi Foundation had been brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for treatment.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has held notification of the scene and canalized the pointed diggings to shoot the labor force from their regions. “I warrant the perpetrators behind the attack on the more IG’s office to be arrested,” he said, adding that a strike on the police chief’s agency was “ not respectable” at any cost.
The chief ambassador also cast a report from the officer concerned and said that he was face-to-face covering the deal. He similarly channeled Rangers to come at the setting.
Talking to Geo News, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon said fresh delegations of police and Rangers had reached the point.
“CM Shah is face-to-face covering the operation, ” he said. “ The people of Sindh will hear good news soon.”
He pledged to educate the “ terrorists ” on an assignment, adding that “ there was no way the terrorists would be suitable to flee”.
