Jemimah went on to play unbeaten match-winning innings of 38- ball 53 runs
India’s seven-gate palm over Pakistan on Sunday in ICC women’s T20 World Cup has been marred by a controversial umpiring error.
India scored a redundant four runs in their innings after arbiter Jacqueline Williams accidentally allowed a redundant seventh ball to be sailed in their seventh over of the innings against Pakistan.
Nida Dar sailed the seventh over of India’s innings, which was hit by Jemimah Rodrigues for her first boundary of the innings.
Jemimah went on to play an unbeaten match-winning inning of 38- ball 53 runs, which included eight boundaries.
This isn't the first time in recent times that a controversial umpiring decision has changed the course of an India- Pakistan game.
In India's close palm over Pakistan in the 2022 men’s T20 World Cup in Melbourne, Virat Kohli was delivered a full toss by Mohammad Nawaz in the 19th over, which he hit into the mid-wicket stands and incontinently gestured at Marais Erasmus, the leg arbiter, for a no-ball.
The two on-field judges, Rod Tucker and Erasmus, got together and ultimately gestured a no-ball, which proved to be decisive.
Former cricketers and numerous Pakistani suckers allowed Kohli had put Erasmus under pressure, which led him to gesture a no-ball.
Still, you're going to put pressure on the arbiter, also of course Virat is a big name.
"If you're going to call commodity. So occasionally judges get under pressure," said Waqar about the forenamed incident.
